Marquette, Mich. - The Wayne State University men's swimming team had eight "A" finals qualifiers after the Thursday morning prelims.
The Warriors won the prelim of the 200 free relay in a time of 1:26.66. The quartet consisted of Per Bergstrom, Luiz Pacheco, Tim Giblin and Bruno Blanco.
Four WSU swimmers qualified for the "A" final in the 500 free. Nick Markou won the prelims (4:39.58), while Nick Ingrao (4:42.37) was second. Guilherme Veiga was fourth (4:43.84) and Sebastian Rzepa (4:49.60) was eighth.
In the men's 200IM, A.J. Erard (1:55.39) and Mathias Isaksson (1:56.47) were "A" finals qualifiers.
Both Blanco (22.08) and Bergstrom (22.11) were "A" finals qualifiers in the men's 50 free, while Pacheco (22.24) and Giblin (22.24) were both "B" finals qualifiers.
Wayne State was third in the morning prelims of the men's 400 medley relay with a time of 3:39.11. The foursome was Matt Leix, Erard, Jared Troyer and Giblin.
