Men's Swimming Performs Well At Wednesday Prelims

Indianapolis, Ind. - Wayne State University Jared Troyer (Portage, Mich./Central) is currently fourth in the 1000 free with the top eight seeds to swim tonight during the timed finals. Troyer, who had a time of 9:29.02 can finish no lower than 12th. He placed 20th in the 1000 free at the 2005 NCAA Championships.

Three Warriors will be competing tonight in the 1000 free - freshman Guilherme Veiga (Vinton, Va./William Byrd) and seniors Nick Ingrao (Ypsilanti, Mich./Lincoln) and Nick Markou (Canton, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central).

Sophomore A.J. Erard (Troy, Mich./Univ. of Detroit Jesuit) has qualified for tonight's "B" final in the 200 IM after placing 14th in the morning prelims with a time of 1:54.92. Senior Mathias Isaksson (Vasteras, Sweden/Alleskolan) finished 19th in a time of 1:56.01.

In the men's 50 free, freshman Tim Giblin (Midland, Mich./Midland Dow) finished 36th in a time of 21.65.

Wayne State's 200 medley relay quartet of Luiz Pacheco (Curitiba, Brazil/Colegio Expoente), Isaksson, Bruno Blanco (Rio de Janiero, Brazil/Princesa Isabel) and Giblin placed eighth in the morning prelims and will swim in tonight's "A" final. WSU had a time of 1:33.20.
