Sean Peters, Wayne State University men's swimming coach, was named the men's coach of the meet for the NCAA national championship meet held last Wednesday through Saturday in Buffalo.
The award is given through the CSCAA (College Swimming Coaches Association of America).
Peters led the Warriors to the highest finish (third) in school history. The 1941 squad tied-for-third with Ohio State, behind Michigan and Yale.
WSU had 24 individual All-Americans (12 first team and 12 honorable mention) plus all five relays earned First Team All-America accolades earlier this month.
Peters has been selected the GLIAC Men's Coach of the Year for six consecutive seasons and the GLIAC Women's Coach of the Year in both 2006 and 2007.
