Four members of the 2005-06 Wayne State men's swimming and diving team were named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic team. The Warriors won the 2006 GLIAC Championship and placed six at the NCAA Championships, their best-ever finish at nationals.

To be eligible for GLIAC All-Academic status, a student athlete must have: a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or greater (on a 4.0 scale); must be a starter or key reserve; and must not be a freshman or first-year transfer.

Selected to the GLIAC All-Academic team were senior Nick Ingrao (Ypsilanti, Mich./Lincoln), redshirt junior Bruno Blanco (Rio de Janiero, Brazil/Princesa Isabel), and sophomores David Fontecchio (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester Adams) and Matt Leix (Flint, Mich./Southwestern).

Ingrao was honored for the second time in his career, while Blanco, Fontecchio, and Leix were all eligible for the first time this season.
