SOMERS, Wis. - The Wayne State University swimming and diving teams are ranked at the top of both the men's and women's CSCAA/CollegeSwimming.com Division II national poll, as announced this week.
Both squads hold slim leads in the rankings over league rival Grand Valley State, which will host Wayne State in a dual meet Jan. 9 in Allendale. The Warrior men retained their No. 1 ranking, while the women leapfrogged over the Lakers into the top spot.
In WSU's most recent competition Dec. 5-6 at the Eastern Michigan Invitational, the Warriors set 15 school records and achieved or improved upon 70 national qualifying times.
The CollegeSwimming.com rankings are based on each team's best dual meet lineup as judged and submitted by participating teams. Rankings are announced four times throughout the season - November (Pre-Invite), December (Post-Invite), February (Pre-Conference), and March (Post-Conference.
