Lech Czerwinski won at No. 4 singles and teamed with Philip Tharakan for an 8-6 win at third doubles.

Lockport, Ill. - The Wayne State University men's tennis team (1-0) began its 2004 season with a convincing 9-0 triumph against Lewis on Friday at the Lockport Fitness Forum.

The Warriors did not drop a set in singles and lost just 10 games in the five singles matches that were played. WSU lost only seven games in the two doubles flights.

Wayne State continues its opening weekend with a Saturday evening match at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
