Indianapolis, Ind. - The Wayne State men's tennis team evened its record to 2-2 with a 6-3 come from behind win over Bellarmine in a non-conference match at the UIndy Tennis Center club Saturday afternoon.

WSU fell behind early as Bellarmine took 2-of-3 doubles matches. The No. 1 tandem of freshman Johan Maubacq (Bussy St. Georges, France) and senior Donavon Mitchell (Detroit, Mich./Mumford) were the lone Warrior bright spot as they took out N. Janssen-Bernard and Tim Braam, 8-5.

For the second consecutive day, WSU took control of the match during singles play taking 5-of-6 matches as sophomore Antoine Marenaud (Bordeaux, France/Camille Jullian) defeated Sathi Reddy 6-3, 6-2, at the No. 1 position while Maubacq rallied from a set down to upend Nate Matthews 4-6, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 2. At the No. 3 slot, Mitchell won in three sets over Janssen-Bernard, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, with senior Alejandro Gomez (Comitan Chiapas, Mexico/Instituto Moderno Comitan) defeating Tim Braam 6-3, 7-6, at No. 5. Freshman Eric Szyzlowski (Canton, Mich./Canton) also notched a 6-3, 6-3, straight set win over David Royer at the No. 6 spot to seal the Warriors' 6-3 victory.

WSU will travel to Kalamazoo College for a non-conference match on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 2:00 p.m.
