Kalamazoo, Mich. - The Wayne State University men's tennis team (0-1 overall) began its 2006 season with a 7-0 loss (doubles count as a single point) at Kalamazoo College (3-1) Saturday evening.

First-year men's coach Sheila Snyder's line-up consisted of senior Sebastian Foka (Choisy-le-Roi, France), junior Donavon Mitchell (Detroit, Mich./Mumford), transfer Arthur Carillo, freshman Matt Fisher (Shelby Twp., Mich./Eisenhower), senior Adam Williams (Northville, Mich.) and junior Ryan Buck (Shelby Twp., Mich./Utica). Freshman R.J. Rodgerson played doubles.

The lone WSU player to go three sets in singles was Mitchell at No. 2 (4-6, 6-3, 7-5).

The Warriors begin GLIAC play on Saturday, March 25 versus Findlay at the Eastside Racquet Club in Detroit starting at noon.
