Orlando, Fla. - The Wayne State men's tennis team (1-2) defeated Sacred Heart, 9-0, on Friday afternoon in the Warriors' first match in their Florida trip.
Singles winners were Antoine Marenaud (Bordeaux, France), Alejandro Gomez (Comitan Chiapas, Mexico), Ryan Buck (Shelby Twp., Mich./Utica), Arthur Carillho (Joao Pessoa, Brazil), Kevin Turnbull (Shelby Twp., Mich./Warren DeLaSalle) and Vito Antonelli (Almont, Mich./Almont).
Doubles winners were the teams of Marenaud/ Donavon Mitchell (Detroit, Mich./Mumford), Turnbull/Buck and Gomez/Antonelli.
Wayne State's next matches will be Sunday, March 11, against Georgetown (12 p.m.) and Merrimack (5:30 p.m.).
