Findlay, Ohio - The Wayne State men's tennis team (6-7 overall, 1-3 GLIAC) won its first conference match of the season and snapped a four-game losing streak in the process as the Warriors defeated Findlay, 9-0, Tuesday afternoon.

Alejandro Gomez (Comitan Chiapas, Mexico) shut out Michael Sarno, 6-0, 6-0, in #3 singles while Arthur Carrilho (Joao Pessoa, Brazil) won a marathon at #4 singles, defeating Steven Fox, 6-4, 4-6, 12-10.

Other winners include Antoine Marenaud (Bordeaux, France) at #1 singles, Donavon Mitchell (Detroit, Mich./Mumford) at #2, Ryan Buck (Shelby Twp., Mich./Utica) at #5 and Kevin Turnbull (Shelby Twp., Mich./Warren DeLaSalle) at #6.

The doubles teams of Marenaud/Mitchell (#1), Gomez/Carrilho (#2) and Turnbull/Buck (#3) were all victorious.

Wayne State will play two matches in the upper penninsula this weekend: Michigan Tech on Saturday and Lake Superior State on Sunday. Both matches are set to begin at 10 a.m.
