GRANDVILLE, Mich. - The WSU men's tennis team lost its third straight GLIAC match on Monday, a 5-4 decision at Grand Valley State.
GVSU swept the doubles action, with all three matches ending with a score of 8-5, to take an early 3-0 lead.
Wayne State responded to take four of the six singles matches, but came up just short in taking the lead away from the host Lakers.
Sebastien Foka (Choisy-le-Roi, France), Donavon Mitchell (Detroit, Mich.), and Arthur Carrilho (Joao Pessoa, Brazil), the top three singles players for WSU, were all victorious. Adam Williams (Northville, Mich.), who extended his winning streak to six matches, also won at No. 5 singles.
The Warriors have three conference matches upcoming this weekend, as WSU faces Northwood on Friday, Michigan Tech on Saturday, and Lake Superior State on Sunday. All three matches will be played at the Eastside Racquet Club in Detroit.
