Houghton, Mich. - The Wayne State University men's tennis team improved to 10-9 overall and 3-3 in the GLIAC with a 9-0 triumph Saturday at Michigan Tech (9-5 overall, 2-3 GLIAC).
The Warriors led 3-0 after doubles as Sebastien Foka and Miguel Cobbs recorded an 8-2 win at first doubles. Glauber Santos and Philip Tharakan won the tiebreaker 8-6 to claim the eight-game pro set 9-8 at second doubles. Adam Williams and Mike Frolov teamed for an 8-3 victory at No. 3 doubles.
WSU won all six singles flights with the only No. 6 going to the decisive third set. Ryan Buck won the first set 6-3 but dropped the second set 4-6 before winning 6-1 in the third set.
Wayne State concludes the regular season with a 10 a.m. match on Sunday at Lake Superior.
