MIDLAND, Mich. - The WSU men's tennis team earned a 5-0 shutout victory over Michigan Tech at the GLIAC Tournament in Midland on Friday.
The Warriors swept the three doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead, and Sebastien Foka (Choisy-le-Roi, France) and Ryan Buck (Shelby Twp., Mich.) were able to win their respective singles matches in quick fashion to clinch the victory for Wayne State.
Foka earned his fourth win in a row, a straight set triumph (6-2, 6-0) over MTU's Brett Girard. Buck was victorious at No. 6 singles (6-0, 6-3) against Igor Trifonov.
The Warriors will face Mercyhurst tomorrow morning for fifth place. The fifth-seeded Lakers won their second round match over the No. 8 Findlay Oilers.
