MIDLAND, Mich. - The No. 3-seed Wayne State University men's tennis team (26-3) began the 2004 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) tournament with a 6-1 defeat of sixth-seeded Mercyhurst College (8-6) Friday morning at the Midland Tennis Center.
Wayne State will face the second-seeded Ferris State Bulldogs (13-7) in the semifinals this afternoon. Ferris State defeated Michigan Tech, 7-0, in the quarterfinals and beat the Warriors, 6-3, during the regular season in Big Rapids.
