Big Rapids, Mich. - The Wayne State University men's tennis team dropped a 5-0 decision to GLIAC-rival and tournament host Ferris State earlier today in the championship match of the 2004 NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region Tournament being held at FSU's Racquet and Fitness Center.
The Bulldogs, who are ranked 28th in the current (April 29) Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II National Poll, defeated the 31st-ranked Warriors in the regional finals for the third consecutive season. Ferris State is currently 17-8 overall and advances to the round of 16 for the eighth time in school history, while WSU closes the season at 28-5 overall. The 28 victories is a school record.
