Wayne State University rookie tennis player Miguel Cobbs (Boca Raton, Fla./Spanish River) has been selected Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Freshman of the Year.
Cobbs was selected in balloting by the league coaches.
In addition, Cobbs and Warrior sophomore Sebastien Foka (Choisy-le-Roi, France) were named to the All-GLIAC First Team.
WSU sophomore Goran Marijan (Perth, Australia) and senior Rohan Singh (Dearborn, Mich./Edsel Ford) were selected to the All-GLIAC Second Team.
Wayne State has set a school record with 27 wins this year (27-4) and finished third in both the GLIAC regular season (5-2) and tournament.
The Warriors are ranked 30th in the latest national poll and will be participating in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional tournament the weekend of May 7.
