The Wayne State University men's tennis team was selected for the NCAA Championship tournament for the third consecutive year.

The Warriors will participate in one of two NCAA Great Lakes Regionals. WSU (26-4) will face Lake Superior (13-6) in one-half of the regional, while Mercyhurst (11-6) will play host Ferris State (16-8) in the other match.

In its previous two NCAA appearance, the Warriors won their first match but lost in the second round. Last season, Wayne State defeated Missouri-St. Louis, 5-0, before falling to the host Bulldogs, 5-2. In 2002, WSU upended UMSL, 5-2, before suffering a 5-3 setback to FSU.

The winner of this Great Lakes regional will face the winner of a regional being hosted by Kutztown (14-4). The winner of the Assumption (15-0) and Queen's, N.Y. (14-6) match will play either Kutztown or Stonehill (10-9).
