DETROIT - The Wayne State University men's tennis program has signed Jason Beydoun (Westland, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central) to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Rick Cummins has announced.

Beydoun, a 6-3, 170-pound native of Westland, earned four varsity tennis letters at Detroit Catholic Central. He led the Shamrocks to two league titles and was a state champion in 2004 at second doubles with Ryan Snyder.

He also competes for the Fairlane Racket Club and coach Jerry Escheck.

The son of Khaled and Sophia Beydoun, Jason was born on September 13, 1986. He is planning on majoring in pre-medicine and would like to be a medical doctor.

The WSU men's tennis program advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament for the third consecutive year in 2004 and lost three players (Rohan Singh, Lech Czerwinski and Greg Zilo) to graduation.
