Five Men's Tennis Players Named To GLIAC All-Academic Team

Five members of the Wayne State University men's tennis squad have been named to the 2009 GLIAC All-Academic team for first-year head coach Bryan Morrow. Junior Michael Savalle (Grosse Pointe Shores, Mich./Grosse Pointe North) and a quartet of sophomores -- Marlon Leone (Holly, Mich.), Johan Maubacq (Bussy St. Georges, France), Peter Spina (Grosse Pointe, Mich./University Liggett) and Eric Szydlowski (Canton, Mich.) -- were all honored for the first time. The Wayne State University men's tennis team was #10 in the Campbell's/ITA Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest rankings as of May 5. (more)

Three Warriors Earn All-League Honors

Three Wayne State University men's tennis players earned all-conference honors as announced recently by the GLIAC. Sophomore Johan Maubacq (Bussy St. Georges, France) and freshman Bertrand Moulin (Lyon, France) were both voted to the All-GLIAC First Team, while sophomore Eric Szydlowski (Canton, Mich.) earned Honorable Mention All-GLIAC accolades.
