Coral Gables, Fla. - Members of the Wayne State University men's cross country squad participated in the 5000m run at the 2006 Hurricane Invitational hosted by the University of Miami on Saturday.
Junior Chris Mehay (New Baltimore, Mich./Anchor Bay) won the 5000m run in a time of 15:03.70. Also placing in the top five for the Warriors were redshirt freshman Abdullah Saleh (Dearborn, Mich./Fordson), senior Matt Fecht (Warren, Mich./Mott) and junior Lance Jones (Saranac, Mich.). Saleh was second (15:06.16), Fecht placed fourth (15:16.36) and Jones finished fifth (15:19.74).
Also running for WSU was sophomore Kevin Christensen (Battle Creek, Mich./Pennfield), who placed 12th in a time of 15:58.00.
