Notre Dame, Ind. - Three current members of the Wayne State University men's cross country ran at the Notre Dame Spring Opener held on April 1 in South Bend at Moose Krause Stadium.
Competing in the 5000m run were junior Lance Jones (Saranac, Mich.), junior Chris Mehay (New Baltimore, Mich./Anchor Bay) and redshirt freshman Abdullah Saleh (Dearborn, Mich./Fordson).
Jones finished second in a time of 14:51.08 as Notre Dame's Mike Popejoy won the event in a time of 14:49.72. Mehay was third (14:51.39) and Saleh placed fifth (15:08.6).
Former Warrior Nick Allen ran unattached and placed fourth in a time of 14:55.78.
