Kenosha, Wisc. - The Wayne State University men's cross country team finished sixth out of 20 teams with 123 points at the Midwest Collegiate Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course Saturday afternoon. Edinboro University took first place honors with 74 points.

For the third consecutive invitational, junior Abdullah Saleh (Dearborn, Mich.-Fordson) has led the Warriors with a top five finish coming in fourth out of 263 runners in the 8000m run with a time of 25:08.

Wayne State also had four runners finish place in the top 40 with sophomore Dan Kapadia (Canton, Mich./Salem) finishing 26th with a time of 26:13 followed by senior Kevin Christensen (Battle Creek, Mich.-Pennfield) in 29th at 26:17. Senior Dave Lucas (Dearborn, Mich.-Detroit Catholic Central) also came in 31st (26:22) with sophomore Sam Breen (Brownstown, Mich./Woodhaven) placing 38th (26:28).

The team will resume action in two weeks at the Greater Louisville Classic Saturday Sept. 29 at Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky. The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 am.
