Big Rapids, Mich. - The eighth ranked Wayne State men's cross country team took care of business at the Michigan Intercollegiate Friday, finishing in first place out of 13 teams. Second place Grand Valley was a distant 72 points behind the Warriors. Wayne State was ranked second in the Great Lakes region, behind only the Lakers. The meet was hosted by Ferris State. The Warriors finished one-two-three in the standings and had four runners in the top five. It is the fourth first-place finish for WSU in five races this season.

Redshirt sophomore Abdullah Saleh (Dearborn, Mich./Fordson) finished in first place overall, his first such feat. His former personal best was fourth, coming at the Mel Brodt Invitational earlier this season.
