FINDLAY/ASHLAND GAME STORYLINES

The Wayne State University women's basketball team can secure a spot in the 2007 GLIAC tournament with two wins this week as the Warriors host Findlay on Thursday (5:30 p.m.) and Ashland on Saturday (1 p.m.).

WSU is 4-1 in home league contests this season, including four consecutive victories since an 87-66 setback to Gannon on Nov. 30.

Wayne State is third in the GLIAC South Division, one game behind Hillsdale and three games ahead of Ashland.

ON THE BENCH

Wayne State's Gloria Bradley has an 84-99 mark in her seventh season with the Warrior basketball program. Her overall 14-year coaching mark stands at 197-167, which includes seven seasons at Montclair State (1993-2000).

Kate Cummings is in her first year at Findlay. Ashland's Sue Ramsey is in her 12th season with the Eagles and has a 181-148 mark.

THROUGHOUT THE YEARS

Wayne State snapped a six-game losing streak to Ashland with a win in Ohio on Jan. 11. WSU has not swept the Eagles since 2000-01. The Warriors are 9-3 in the last 12 contests versus the Oilers after Findlay won eight of the first nine meetings.

SERIES NOTES

Gloria Bradley has a 9-4 all-time mark against Findlay.

WSU has won four straight home games versus the Oilers since an overtime loss during the 2001-02 season.

Wayne State is looking for its third series sweep of the decade (the Warriors won both meetings in 2002-03 and 2003-04).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gloria Bradley has a 5-9 all-time mark versus Ashland including a 3-3 record in games played at the Matthaei.

AU has won the last two years in Detroit, ending a two-game Warrior winning streak.

Wayne State is looking for its first season sweep since 2000-01.

MILLER NEARING WSU SINGLE-SEASON TOP TEN MARK

WSU sophomore guard Chastidy Miller, who made 97 free throws a year ago (sixth highest single-season mark in school history), needs four free throws made to tie Sarah Warnke's mark of 85 for the 10th best single-season total.

Sophomore guard Joy Nash's assist total of 101 ranks ninth all-time at WSU.

IN THE POLLS

The Warriors were selected fifth in the GLIAC South Division preseason coaches' poll, while Findlay was picked to finish fourth and Ashland first in the GLIAC South Division.
