The Wayne State University Department of Athletics announced its all-time top 10 women's basketball players today as selected in online voting and at Warrior basketball games earlier this season.

Making the presentation of the all-time top 10 was Wayne State University Director of Athletics Rob Fournier. The top 10 is listed below alphabetically.

Our first selection is the only player in school history to lead the team in scoring three straight seasons. She was also the first player to reach the 1,000-point plateau scoring 1,088 points in three seasons. Her teams had a combined 69 percent winning percentage. She held the single-game scoring record for nearly 30 years and her 17 points per game scoring average ranks third all-time -- Mary Carney, who was represented by her sister Anne Marie, also a former WSU women's basketball student-athlete.

Our next selection is WSU's fourth all-time leading scorer with 1,198 points. A First Team All-GLIAC selection in 1984-85, she ranks fifth all-time in both field goals made and free throws made in WSU history and held the career assist mark for nearly 20 years. She also ranks eighth in career steals and helped the Tartars to 61 victories in her four seasons -- Pearly Cunningham-Armstrong.

Our next honoree scored 991 points in only two seasons in the Green and Gold. She was a two-time All-GLIAC First Team selection and the 1983-84 GLIAC Player of the Year. In addition, she led the Tartars in scoring and rebounding in back-to-back seasons. Her 18 points per game scoring average is second all-time at WSU, while 49.6 field goal percentage is third best in the WSU record books -- Lori Januszkiewicz-Sweeney.

Our next honoree, did everything on the court for WSU. She led the team in assists in three of her four seasons, is WSU's all-time leading scorer with 1,439 points and the school record holder with 568 field goals made. She was voted GLIAC Freshman of the Year in 1988-89. She also ranks second in career steals with 228 and fourth in assists with 382, and minutes played with 3,075 -- Monique Johnson.

Our next honoree played four seasons for the Tartars and is WSU's all-time leader in rebounds with 756. She also holds the school record for career field goal percentage at 54 percent. Her 1,174 points ranks sixth on the all-time WSU charts. She also ranks among WSU's best in field goals made, free throws made, blocked shots and minutes played. The Most Outstanding Player at the 1994 Tartar Classic -- Delonda Little-Nathan.

Our next honoree started all 52 games in her two-year WSU career and averaged nearly 17 points per game which ranks fourth all-time. She earned All-GLIAC honors both seasons in the Green and Gold while leading the team both years in scoring, rebounding, steals, and blocked shots. She also served as a co-captain both seasons -- Pam Mahoney, who was represented by her coach Gary Bryce.

Our next selection became the first All-American in school history when she earned Kodak/WBCA Honorable mention accolades following the 2002-03 campaign. She was a two-time First Team All-GLIAC South Division selection. Her career scoring average of just over 16 points per game ranks fifth all-time. She ranks among the all-time best at WSU in both three-point field goals made and three-point field goal percentage. She helped the 2002-03 squad to the first NCAA tournament appearance in school history -- Keneisha Moss.

Our next top-vote getter is WSU's third all-time leading scorer with 1,231 points. A four-time All-GLIAC honoree, she ranks second in both career field goals made and rebounds and among the leaders in both assists and free throw percentage. She helped the 1980-81 squad to a GLIAC title, a school record 23 wins and a victory over Central Michigan in the SMAIAW tournament -- Liz O'Brien, who came all the way from Iowa for the presentation.

Our next honoree is Wayne State's second all-time leading scorer with 1,353 points. She also holds the school records for career steals with 230, and free throws made at 323. Her 505 field goals made ranks third all-time. A 1990-91 All-GLIAC First Team selection, she ranks among the all-time best in assists, blocks, scoring average and free throw percentage. She averaged over 30 minutes a contest in her Tartar career -- Mary Rogers.

Our final honoree is WSU's ninth all-time leading scorer with 1,097 points in only 56 games. She holds the WSU single-game scoring record with 48 points vs. Grand Valley on Jan. 15, 2004. A 2004 Honorable Mention All-American by both Daktronics and the D-II Bulletin, she also holds the school career records for scoring average (19.6 points per game) and free throw percentage at 86 percent. A two-time All-GLIAC First Team selection -- Jodi Young.
