HILLSDALE GAME STORYLINES

The Wayne State University women's basketball team concludes its regular-season schedule with a 1 p.m. contest at Hillsdale on Saturday.

The Warriors return to Hillsdale on Tuesday (Feb. 27) for a GLIAC quarterfinal contest.

ON THE BENCH

Wayne State's Gloria Bradley has an 86-103 mark in her seventh season with the Warrior basketball program. Her overall 14-year coaching mark stands at 200-172, which includes seven seasons at Montclair State (1993-2000). She recorded her 200th collegiate coaching victory with WSU's win at Mercyhurst on Feb. 8.

Claudette Charney has an 84-60 record in her fifth year with the Chargers. Her 23-year overall mark stands at 400-237.

THROUGHOUT THE YEARS

Wayne State has won the last two meetings to take a 28-25 lead in the all-time series.

The Warriors posted an 85-67 win over Hillsdale on Dec. 9 as six players scored in double figures led by Bethany Mesko's 17 points. In the 2005-06 regular-season finale in Detroit, WSU recorded a 70-44 victory as Mesko (13 points), Nicole Rogers (13 points) and Kristen Rogers (12 points) each scored in double figures.

WSU has not won at Hillsdale since Jan. 30, 1995 season (an 80-68 Tartar win behind 23 points by Delonda Little), a span of 11 games.

SERIES NOTES

Gloria Bradley has a 4-9 all-time mark against Hillsdale, including a 0-6 record in games played at Hillsdale.

HC has won the last 11 meetings at home versus the Warriors since an 80-68 Tartar victory on Jan. 30, 1995.

The Chargers had won six straight series meetings prior to WSU's current two-game series win streak.

Wayne State is looking for its first regular-season sweep of Hillsdale since the 1994-95 campaign.

WSU and HC have never met in the GLIAC post-season until this coming Tuesday (Feb. 27).

BOWERS, MILLER AND NASH MOVING UP WSU CHARTS

WSU freshman guard Brooke Bowers has made 51 three-pointers, 10th best single-season mark in school history. Jill Hetherington (1996-97) is ninth with 54.

Sophomore guard Chastidy Miller has made 109 free throws this year, tied-for-fourth best single-season mark in school history. Pam Mahoney (1997-98) is third with 110.

Sophomore guard Joy Nash's assist total of 134 ranks seventh all-time at WSU. Monique Johnson is sixth with 143 assists.

IN THE POLLS

The Warriors were selected fifth in the GLIAC South Division preseason coaches' poll, while Hillsdale was picked to finish second.
