HILLSDALE GAME STORYLINES

The Wayne State University women's basketball team begins the "Second Season" this Tuesday at Hillsdale. The Warriors finished the regular season with a 69-62 setback at Hillsdale last Saturday and was seeded third in the GLIAC South Division. The Chargers are the No. 2 seed in the South Division.

This is WSU's sixth trip to the GLIAC tournament in head coach Gloria Bradley's seven seasons.

WSU is 1-4 in GLIAC quarterfinal contests having played Gannon three times (1-2) and at Ashland (0-1) last year. The Warriors' other defeat came versus Lake Superior at Grand Rapids in 2002.

ON THE BENCH

Wayne State's Gloria Bradley has an 86-104 mark in her seventh season with the Warrior basketball program. Her overall 14-year coaching mark stands at 200-173, which includes seven seasons at Montclair State (1993-2000).

Claudette Charney has an 85-60 record in her fifth year with the Chargers. Her 23-year overall mark stands at 401-237.

THROUGHOUT THE YEARS

Wayne State had won the last previous two meetings before Saturday's loss, but the Warriors still lead in the all-time series 28-26.

WSU has not won at Hillsdale since Jan. 30, 1995 season (an 80-68 Tartar win behind 23 points by Delonda Little), a span of 12 games.

SERIES NOTES

Gloria Bradley has a 4-10 all-time mark against Hillsdale, including a 0-7 record in games played at Hillsdale.

HC has won the last 12 meetings at home versus the Warriors since an 80-68 Tartar victory on Jan. 30, 1995.

The Chargers had won six straight series meetings prior to WSU's two-game win streak which ended Saturday.

WSU and HC have never met in the GLIAC post-season until tonight.

BOWERS, MILLER AND NASH MOVING UP WSU CHARTS

WSU freshman guard Brooke Bowers has made 51 three-pointers, 10th best single-season mark in school history. Jill Hetherington (1996-97) is ninth with 54.

Sophomore guard Chastidy Miller has made 113 free throws this year, the third best single-season mark in school history. Mary Rogers (1990-91) is second with 120.

Sophomore guard Joy Nash's assist total of 134 ranks seventh all-time at WSU. Monique Johnson is sixth with 143 assists.
