Women's Basketball Releases 2008-09 Schedule

Wayne State University women's basketball head coach Gloria Bradley has announced her schedule for the upcoming 2008-09 campaign. With the change in GLIAC scheduling from 17 to 22 games (double round-robin), the Warriors have five non-league contests starting with a November 20 game at Northern Kentucky. The Norse welcome back three starters from its NCAA Division II national championship team that compiled a 28-8 mark last season. (more)

Two Women's Basketball Players Named To GLIAC All-Academic Team

Two members of the 2007-08 Wayne State University women's basketball squad were named to the GLIAC All-Academic team. Senior Nicole Rogers (Lansing, Mich./Everett) was a third time honoree while junior Chastidy Miller (White Lake, Mich./Waterford Kettering) was selected to the team for the second time. (more)

George Named To GLIAC All-Tournament Team

Wayne State University senior forward Monique George (Detroit, Mich./Cass Tech) was voted to the GLIAC women's basketball all-tournament team. George had 14 points in WSU's semifinal loss to eventual champion Michigan Tech after recording a double-double with 16 points and a team-high 13 rebounds in Wayne State's quarterfinal upset win at conference champion Hillsdale College on March 1.
