Anna Garina was awarded first place in the NCAA Regional in the women's epee.

Evanston, Ill. - The Wayne State University women's fencing team competed at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship on Sunday, March 14, at Northwestern University.

In the women's epee, Anna Garina took first place, while Anna Vinnikov was fifth.

Lindsey Howard was WSU's top competitor in the women's foil placing eighth. Senior Kathryn Hefner finished in a tie for 13th.

In the women's sabre, Jinelle Lawson finished 11th.
