Women's Fencing Participates In Penn State's Garret Open

Justyna Konczalska placed fourth in the epee competition at the Garret Open.

University Park, Pa. - Three members of the Wayne State University women's fencing team participated in the 2007 Garret Open hosted by Penn State last Saturday.

Justyna Konczalska (Innsbruck, Austria/BORG Innsbruck) was the lone Warrior in the epee and she placed fourth out of 54 competitors.

Ann Bartoszewicz (Macomb, Mich./Eisenhower) and Anna Kotov (W. Bloomfield, Mich./Walled Lake Western) both participated in the sabre competition. Bartoszewicz placed 14th with Kotov finishing 45th.

The Warriors are idle until hosting the Istvan Danosi/Michigan Open on Sunday, Dec. 2 at the Matthaei.
