Richmond, Va. - Wayne State University senior fencer Anna Garina finished in a third-place tie out of 106 fencers in the women's epee at the North American Cup being held in Richmond, Va.

Garina was tied with Courtney Hurley, trailing only indiviudal champion Maya Lawrence and runner-up Kelley Hurley.

Garina placed ninth at the 2005 NAC held in Pittsburgh.

Wayne State's next fencing competition will be on Jan. 20 at the Notre Dame Duals.
