Dr. Steven Karageanes entered his fifth year in the fall of 2007 as the team physician for the Wayne State University Athletic department.
Karageanes, a fellow in the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine, serves as the Director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship program at Oakwood Hospital and the Director of Sports Medicine Education.
He is also a consultant for USA Gymnastics and USA Swimming, team physician for the Detroit Demolition and a clinical assistant professor for the Wayne State University School of Medicine. His textbook "Principles of Manual Sports Medicine" was released in November 2004. He also serves as a consultant to the National Hockey League Players Association.
Dr. Karageanes attended the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and the University of Michigan for his undergraduate degree. Karageanes lives in Plymouth with his wife and two children.
