Detroit, Mich. - Wayne State women's hockey freshman defenseman Chelsea Burnett (Ridgeway, Ontario/Stoney Creek Sabres) was named College Hockey America's Rookie of the Week released earlier today. It is the blueliner's third such award this season.

Burnett recorded a goal and two assists in a weekend sweep at Robert Morris. Her goal gave the Warriors a 2-1 lead on Saturday, a game they would win, 3-2 in overtime. Her assists came on the first and last goals of the contest on Friday. The three-point performance ended a scoring drought of six games and was her first multiple-point weekend since scoring two goals in the Cornell series on Nov. 3-4. She finished the two games with five shots on goal and a plus/minus rating of +2.

Wayne State (11-14-1, 3-3-0 CHA), winners of three straight games, are idle this week but will travel to Niagara on Feb. 9-10.
