As part of this weekend's series against No. 6 Mercyhurst, the Wayne State women's hockey team is sponsoring "Skate For The Cure" Night on Friday at City Sports Center Arena.

The goal of the promotion is to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research.

Fans can purchase pink ribbons from any WSU women's hockey player for a minimum donation of $1.00 anytime leading up to Friday's game, including at the arena.

Additionally, there will be a pre-game ceremonial puck drop with Jackie Kovalchik, a breast cancer survivor and the mother of Wayne State men's hockey player Steve Kovalchik.

Friday's game against the Lakers is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $5.00 at the arena prior to the game, or by calling 1-866-WSU-TIKS. Wayne State students may also receive free admission with a OneCard.

WSU Athletics would like to thank its fans for their support of the Warriors and their efforts to support breast cancer research.
