Detroit, Mich. - Wayne State sophomore forward Lindsay DiPietro (Manotick, Ontario/Ottawa Lady Senators) was named College Hockey America Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this season. She earned the honor after having her most offensive weekend of the season.
DiPietro accumulated her most productive weekend of the season when she scored a goal and added five assists in a weekend sweep of Robert Morris. Her goal on Friday came 29 seconds after Robert Morris scored to take a 2-0 lead. She added two assists the rest of the contest which tied the game at 2-2 and 3-3 and helped on all three tallies on Saturday. She finished the weekend with four shots on goal and a plus/minus rating of +3. She is currently 11th in the nation in assists per game (0.91).
Wayne State will battle Niagara in the conference semifinals on Friday at 1 p.m. at Robert Morris' Island Sports Center. The season series was dead-locked at 2-2-0 with two weekend splits.
