DETROIT - The Wayne State University women's hockey team is ranked in the top ten nationally for the second time this season. WSU is 10th in the latest USA Today/American Hockey Magazine poll released today. Last weekend, the Warriors split a pair of games with a 4-1 setback (Feb. 22) and 3-2 come-from-behind overtime win (Feb. 23) against #7 Mercyhurst. The victory gave the Warriors the season series over the Lakers for the first time in school history.
Wayne State concludes the regular season with a two-game conference set at home against Niagara on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 29-Mar. 1) at 7:00 and 2:00 p.m. With two wins, the Warriors will lock up the No. 1 seed in the post-season tournament and finish no worse than co-CHA regular season champions.
