Wayne State women's hockey head coach Jim Fetter and his staff have added Adrianna Pfeffer, a forward from Farmington Hills, Mich., to the squad for the 2007-08 season. Pfeffer had played for Belle Tire U-19 team this season.

Pfeffer, a 2007 graduate of Mercy High School Prep, had played eight seasons for Belle Tire, winning eight state championships, making her the first female hockey player with that honor. Belle Tire finished in first place in Mississauga at the annual Christmas tournament. She is the daughter of Michele and Dan Pfeffer and plans to major in education. Her favorite athlete is Henrik Zetterberg.

Says Fetter about Pfeffer: "Adrianna is a big strong power forward. We hope she will be able to help add to our team's offensive output next season. She has also played on teams that have won state titles and that experience will help her at this level."

Pfeffer joins forwards Janet Babchishin and Jennifer Pollett and goaltender Paige Keranen.
