Wayne State University sophomore defenseman Tegan Schroeder (Lumsden, Sask.) was selected as one of 38 players who will be competing for a spot on Hockey Canada's National Under-22 Team at its selection camp held August 9-19 at York University in Toronto, Ontario.

The 38 players were selected for the camp by Wally Kozak, Hockey Canada's Head Scout for National Women's Teams, in consultation with Melody Davidson, general manager of National Women's Teams, and Julie Healy, Hockey Canada's Director of Female Hockey.

Schroeder recently participated in Hockey Canada's U-22 Conditioning/Skating Camp for the second straight year held May 25- 27.

As a freshman for the Warriors in 2006-07, Schroeder played in 33 of WSU's 34 games and earned Second Team All-College Hockey America honors as well as being named to the CHA All-Rookie Team. She assisted on the game-winning goal against Cornell on Nov. 3, and recorded a goal and an assist in the Colgate series on Jan. 5-6. Tegan had an assist against #1 Mercyhurst on Jan. 13 and scored a power-play goal at #1 Mercyhurst on Feb. 17.

Using the upcoming U-19 camp and this U-22 camp, a roster of 22 players will be finalized at the conclusion of the camp at York University and that team will play the U.S.A.'s National Women's Under-22 Team in a three-game exhibition series from August 23-26 in Lake Placid, N.Y.
