Two Warriors Earn CHA Weekly Honors

DETROIT - Wayne State University forwards Melissa Boal (Pakenham, Ont./Ottawa Raiders) and Alyssa Baldin (Mississauga, Ont./Mississauga Jr. Chiefs) were named College Hockey America Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for the second time this season Monday afternoon by the league office.

Boal notched five points as the Warriors swept Syracuse this past weekend in Detroit. She scored the first goal of the game on Friday, while her power-play marker made it a 3-1 game. Boal later assisted on a short-handed goal as the Warriors held on to a 5-3 victory. Her goal in Saturday's 5-2 win snapped a 1-1 tie, and she later added a helper. Boal had 14 shots on goal and a plus/minus rating of +5 in the series.

Baldin scored three goals in the Syracuse series. Her first goal on Friday snapped a 1-1 tie, while her short-handed lamp-lighter made it 5-1. Baldin's goal on Saturday gave the Warriors a 5-2 advantage. She finished the weekend with nine shots on goal and a plus/minus rating of +2.

Wayne State will head to Connecticut this weekend, Nov. 28-29, for the Nutmeg Classic. The Warriors will face UConn on Friday and either Quinnipiac or Yale on Saturday.
