Detroit, Mich. - Women's hockey freshman defenseman Chelsea Burnett (Ridgeway, Ontario/Stoney Creek Sabres) was named College Hockey America's Rookie of the Week. It is her second such award as she previously won it on Nov. 7.

The award comes after she scored a goal during Saturday's 5-4 loss to No. 9 Boston College on the final day of the UNH Tournament. Her tally - the fifth this season - pulled the Warriors to within one with just over two minutes remaining in regulation.

Her five goals is third-best on the team behind sophomore forwards Melissa Boal (Pakenham, Ontario/Ottawa Raiders) (14) and Sam Poyton (Hamilton, Ontario/Stoney Creek Sabres) (6), while her seven points are fourth-best behind Boal, sophomore forward Lindsay DiPietro (Manotick, Ontario/Ottawa Lady Senators), and Poyton.

Wayne State is off this weekend, but will welcome No. 10 Princeton to City Ice Arena on Dec. 8-9.
