Kissimmee, Fla. - The Wayne State University softball squad improved to 7-6 overall with a 9-0 six inning triumph over the University of Massachusetts-Lowell Thursday morning in the Rebel Spring Games.
WSU starter Sarah Ytsma (Chatham, Ont./McGregor S.S.) tossed her first career no-hitter as she faced just 19 batters with one reaching on a WSU error in the third.
Lindsey Perry (Taylor, Mich./Kennedy) scored three runs for the Warriors and recorded two RBIs, while Sarah Berry (Acton, Ont.) had three RBIs. Amanda Van't Wout (Guelph, Ont./Guelph Collegiate V.I.) went 2-for-3 with two runs.
WSU plays Philadelphia later today.
