Kissimmee, Fla. - The Wayne State University softball squad (9-6) won the first game of a Friday doubleheader against California (Pa.), 8-0 in five innings.
Junior pitcher Molly Yetman (Cambridge, Ont./Glenview Park. S.S.) struck out 10 in five innings while allowing just three hits.
Lisa Seymour (Davison, Mich.) went three-for-three with a double, while both Sarah Berry (Acton, Ont.) and Robyn Haig (Waterloo, Ont./Waterloo C.I.) went two-for-three. Lindsey Perry (Taylor, Mich./Kennedy) smacked a double.
After concluding the twinbill versus the Vulcans, the Warriors will play single games on Saturday against Indiana (Pa.) and Eckerd to complete their spring break trip.
