Kissimmee, Fla. - The Wayne State University softball team (11-6 overall) won its fifth consecutive game with a 3-0 triumph over Indiana (Pa.) (3-13) Saturday afternoon in the Rebel Spring Games.

The Warriors snapped a scoreless tie in the bottom of the third as junior Laura Guzman (Royal Oak, Mich./Bishop Foley) had a leadoff double. Lindsey Perry's (Taylor, Mich./Kennedy) sacrifice bunt moved Guzman to third and following a walk to Sarah Kish (St. Catharines, Ont./St. Francis S.S.), Sarah Berry (Acton, Ont.) delivered a sacrifice fly.

WSU added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Guzman again had a leadoff double. Perry was able to reach second with Guzman scoring on an error by the Crimson Hawk left fielder. Kish then reached on an error by the Indiana pitcher that allowed Perry to score.

Meanwhile, Wayne State pitcher Molly Yetman (Cambridge, Ont./Glenview Park. S.S.) was mowing down the Crimson Hawk batters. She struck out 14 of the 24 batters she faced while allowing just two hits (both to IUP designated player Sara Tripoli) and one walk.

WSU concludes its spring break trip at 5 p.m. today against Eckerd College.
