Kissimmee, Fla. - Wisconsin-Parkside (16-6) shut out the Wayne State softball team (8-6), 8-0 in five innings, on Wednesday. UWP scored five runs in the first and three in the second for the victory.
The Warriors had hits from four different players: Sarah Kish (St. Catharines, Ont./St. Francis S.S.), Robyn Haig (Waterloo, Ont./Waterloo C.I.), Sarah Teller (Chesterfield Twp., Mich./L'Anse Creuse North) and Amanda Van't Wout (Guelph, Ont./Guelph Collegiate V.I.).
Freshman hurler Nicole Abel (Kitchener, Ont./St. Mary's) started in the circle and allowed eight runs in 1.2 innings. Sophomore Lauren Warkentien (East China, Mich./Marine City) allowed zero runs on three hits in 3.1 innings in relief.
