Orlando, Fla. - The 25th-ranked Wayne State University softball team (16-12) recorded a 5-2 win over Augustana (6-6) in the Warriors final game of their spring break trip.
The Warriors scored four times in the top of the first and once in the third for a 5-0 lead.
Jessica Snelgove led off the game with a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Sarah Kish. Sue Verbeem singled and Maria D'Agostino followed with a two-run double. Natalya Natyshak and Jordan Sinclair each had sacrifice flies.
Natyshak scored WSU's run in the third with a leadoff single. She moved to second on Becky Quinn's single and scored on Johanna Proux's sacrifice fly.
Sarah Ytsma (6-4) pitched a complete-game eight-hitter. She struck out three and walked one while allowing two earned runs.
Quinn went three-for-four while Jenna McWilliams and Verbeem each had two hits.
