Ashland, Ohio - The Wayne State University softball squad (12-15 overall, 3-1 GLIAC) rebounded from a loss in game one for an 8-5 extra-inning victory at Ashland University (18-12, 3-1) in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader.

For conference doubleheaders the home team is reversed from game one.

Junior catcher Sarah Kish (St. Catharines, Ont./St. Francis S.S.) drilled a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth, her team leading second home run of the season.

WSU scored once in the bottom of the second on a single by Lisa Seymour (Davison, Mich.) and added three more runs the next inning on RBI singles by Jordan Sinclair (Chatham, Ont./Chatham Kent S.S.) and Seymour sandwiched around an RBI double by Kish.

The Eagles scored three times in the top of the fourth and twice more in the fifth to tie the game at five. WSU tallied one run in the bottom of the fourth.

In the bottom of the eighth, Robyn Haig (Waterloo, Ont./Waterloo C.I.) reached on an error and after a sacrifice bunt moved to third. Sinclair was walked but Kish had the walk-off home run.

Both Haig and Kish went four-for-five, the first four-hit game by a Warrior since Sue Verbeem had four hits on April 18, 2004, vs. Northwood.

Kish is batting .625 (15-24) during her eight-game hitting streak in which she has 12 RBI and 24 total bases (1.000 slugging percentage).

Sophomore outfielder Sarah Berry (Acton, Ont.) went two-for-four for her fifth multiple-hit game in the last six contests. Seymour had a career-high three hits, while Sinclair extended her hitting streak to six games.

Lauren Warkentien (East China, Mich./Marine City) started for the Warriors and allowed three earned runs in three innings before Sarah Ytsma (Chatham, Ont./McGregor S.S.) came into the circle. Ytsma surrendered two earned runs in 1.1 innings before Meghan Misiak (Livonia, Mich./Churchill) blanked the Eagles for the final 3.2 innings to earn the victory.

WSU returns home for a non-league doubleheader on Wednesday against Ferris State.
