Kissimmee, Fla. - The Wayne State University softball team (1-5) dropped its third consecutive game falling to 26th-ranked St. Cloud State (14-8), 5-0, in its first game of the 2005 Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Fla.
The Huskies scored twice in the bottom of the second with two outs. A single and back-to-back walks loaded the bases before Ashley Yamamoto singled to break the scoreless tie. An unearned run was scored later in the frame.
St. Cloud added three unearned runs in the bottom of the third. A one-out double by Megan Fuches was followed by a walk and a groundout. Two runs scored on an error while Jillian Graham singled in the game's final run.
The Warriors had the bases loaded with one out in the top of the third on a walk to Sarah Kish and singles by Laura Guzman and Jenna McWilliams, but the next two batters were retired.
Jordan Sinclair recorded the other WSU hit.
Meghan Misiak (0-3) was the tough-luck loser allowing just one earned run in six innings. Lacey Trossbach improved to 9-7 by striking out five and walking one.
Wayne State will play LIU-C.W. Post later today, who is tied with St. Cloud State for 26th in the nation in the latest NFCA rankings.
