The Wayne State University softball team moved into the top 25 of the national NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) Division II Top 25 Poll released earlier today.
The Warriors are ranked 25th with a 19-8 mark (does not include split at Indianapolis on Monday).
In terms of national statistics released by the NCAA, junior pitcher Molly Yetman (Cambridge, Ont.) is second in strikeouts per seven innings at 11.6 and third in earned-run average (0.43). The national stats are also only through Sunday.
Junior outfielder Meredith Boxberger (Canton, Mich.) is 22nd in toughest to strikeout with two K's in 83 at bats.
Junior first baseman Lindsey Perry (Taylor, Mich./Kennedy) is 44th in doubles per game at 0.37 (10 in 27 games).
Senior pitcher Sarah Ytsma (Chatham, Ont.) is ranked nationally in both earned-run average and saves, while freshman Nicole Abel (Kitchener, Ont.) is ranked in strikeouts per seven innings.
WSU resumes GLIAC play with a home doubleheader on Thursday against Ferris State starting at 3 p.m.
