Wayne State University junior Sarah Berry (Acton, Ont.) extended her hitting streak to a WSU season-best 10 games by getting at least one hit in all eight games last week to earn GLIAC Player of the Week honors.

She finished the week batting .609 (14 for 23) with three doubles and two home runs, posting 10 RBI, a 1.000 slugging percentage (23 total bases) and a .679 on-base percentage (five walks).

Berry went 4-5 with three walks and a home run in the split with league-leading Grand Valley State. She went 6-11 with six RBI and two walks as Wayne State swept four games from GLVC foes Quincy (Ill.) and Missouri-St. Louis.

Wayne State is tied-for-third in the GLIAC heading into the final weekend. Before the six league games, WSU will entertain Northern Kentucky for a non-league twinbill on Wednesday.
