The Wayne State University softball team moved up one place to third in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Ranking released today.

The Warriors enter the post-season with a 12-game winning streak and a 36-13 overall mark. WSU has a Great Lakes Region best 28 regional victories against only nine losses (four are against squads currently ranked in the region).

Wayne State's four non-region setbacks have been against Nebraska-Omaha (2-1), Southwest Minnesota State (4-3 in 8 innings) and two at Florida Southern. UNO is ranked fourth in the North Central Region, while SMS is one spot ahead of the Mavericks in third. FSC is ranked fourth in the South Region.

The Warriors also have out-of-region wins against Mass-Lowell and East Stroudsburg. Both schools are regionally ranked this week by the NCAA.
